The research team LITTERA is happy to announce an international colloquium on Comparative Epigraphy, to be held on the 28th–30th of September 2023 at the Universitat de Barcelona.

We thank those who have confirmed their participation in the International Colloquium Alfred von Domaszewski. Latin Epigraphy in the Roman Empire. The event, organized within the framework of the collaboration between Banat National Museum, Timișoara and the Babeș-Bolyai University, Faculty of History and Philosophy, will take place on December 14th-17th 2022 in Timișoara, Romania.

Let me share this image of Joyce Reynold's visit to the British School at Rome in 2004 to remember a living monument of Latin Epigraphy, a great scholar and a great woman, who passed away yesterday, September 11th, at the age of 103. She leaves a huge heritage made of studies, achievements, students who are now teachers, love for learning, smiles, and gentle wisdom.

On September 2nd, during the closing ceremony of the International Congress of Greek and Latin Epigraphy in Bordeaux, the AIEGL prizes 2022 have been awarded by the Vice President of the Association, Denis Rousset.

Die internationale Akademie richtet sich an Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden sowie Master-Studierende der Alten Geschichte und der benachbarten altertumswissenschaftlichen und historischen Fächer. Sie dient der Vertiefung von Kompetenzen in der griechischen Epigraphik. Neben der Arbeit in Museen und Depots von Bukarest, Histria und Tomis (Constanţa) sind Exkursionen nach Kallatis und zum Tropaium Traiani geplant.
