The volume “Latin Inscriptions from the Legionary Fortress of Apulum”, published by George Cupcea (National Museum of Transylvanian History, Cluj, Romania), in the series Tyche Supplementband (no. 16), of the Institute of Ancient History and Classical Studies, Papyrology and Epigraphy of the University of Vienna, is published by Holzhausen.
The volume is composed of separate exhaustive studies devoted to a package of epigraphic monuments discovered in the legionary fortress of Apulum (Alba Iulia) in the last 20 years. Among them, the most spectacular are a series of altars and statue bases discovered in situ during archaeological research in the principia of the fortress, remarkable especially for their double value, historical and archaeological. Alongside these, other monuments discovered in the fortress also contribute, through their content, iconography and the context of their discovery, to the overall picture of the organization and military life in the most important military and urban centre of Dacia.

Semnalăm apariția volumului „Latin Inscriptions from the Legionary Fortress of Apulum”, publicat de George Cupcea (Muzeul Național de Istorie a Transilvaniei, Cluj, Romania), în seria Tyche Supplementband (nr. 16), a Institutului de Istorie Antică și Studii Clasice, Papirologie și Epigrafie de la Universitatea din Viena, la editura Holzhausen.
Volumul este compus din studii exhaustive distincte dedicate unui pachet de monumente epigrafice descoperite în castrul legionar de la Apulum (Alba Iulia), în ultimii 20 de ani. Dintre ele, cele mai spectaculoase sunt o serie de altare și baze de statuie descoperite in situ, în timpul cercetărilor arheologice din principia castrului, remarcabile mai ales prin dubla lor valoare, istorică și arheologică. Alături de acestea, alte monumente descoperite în castru, contribuie și ele, prin conținut, iconografie și contextul descoperirii lor, la imaginea de ansamblu asupra organizării și vieții militare în cel mai important centru militar și urban al Daciei.
